The once-growing viewership of women's sports has taken a nosedive since President Donald Trump signed an executive order explicitly banning men from participating in women's sporting events.
The order, aimed at preserving the integrity of women's sports, has instead led to a significant drop in public interest.
Since the implementation of the executive order, television ratings for women's sports have seen unprecedented lows. Analysts attribute this decline to the absence of male athletes, who had previously dominated many women's sports teams.
Jill Thompson, a former avid viewer of women's basketball, expressed her disappointment.
"It's just not as exciting without the men out there," she said. Thompson, like many others, feels that the dynamic of the game has fundamentally changed.
Colleges and universities across the nation are now reevaluating the financial viability of their women's sports programs. Washington Wick College, for example, is considering drastic measures.
"We're looking at all options, including potentially cutting some of the more feminine sports, as the ticket sales and ratings just aren't cutting it," stated an administrator at the college who wishes to remain anonymous.
Radical feminists on BlueSky have voiced strong opposition to the discussion around eliminating women's sports in colleges.
"This is another way men try to take everything away from women, even our sports," argued feminist leader, Sarah Daniels. "They should have never banned transgender women from women's sports in the first place. Trump is basically Hitler."
