A new taxpayer-funded initiative called the "Americans Need Not Notice" campaign rolled out Tuesday night, spearheaded by the Coalition of Zionist Republicans (CZR).
The effort urges citizens to skim the recently released JFK assassination files without paying attention to any particular details.
Officials behind the campaign have stayed vague on what exactly Americans should ignore, though some observers point to repeated requests within the documents to redact mentions of Israel as a possible focus.
The JFK files, declassified after decades of anticipation, landed online last night, sparking immediate chatter across social media platforms. By Tuesday evening, the Coalition had mobilized, funneling cash into a network of influencers tasked with shaping the narrative.
"Has Ian Carroll or Candace Owens blamed the Jews yet for JFK’s death?" asked one prominent X account with over 2 million followers, echoing a talking point supplied by the campaign.
Details in the files include testimonies and memos from the 1960s investigation, some of which hint at foreign ties that investigators at the time deemed sensitive.
The Coalition’s swift response suggests a preemptive strike against potential conspiracy theories, though critics argue it’s a clumsy attempt to dodge scrutiny.
"We’re just encouraging a healthy disinterest," said Coalition spokesperson David Kleinman during a press briefing Wednesday morning.
The campaign’s rollout hasn’t gone unnoticed by watchdog groups, who question why public funds are bankrolling what they call a distraction operation.
Meanwhile, posts from campaign-backed influencers have racked up millions of views, with many users replying to debate what’s really being buried in the files.
"If you’re telling me not to notice, I’m definitely noticing," wrote one X user. "They must think we're retarded."
Kleinman doubled down when pressed by reporters, insisting the initiative promotes national unity.
"The less we notice, the less we fight about it," he said.
