Combat Veteran Tim Walz's PTSD 'Triggered' by Tesla Cybertruck Sightings

Minnesota Governor Tim Walz addressed a crowd in Minneapolis yesterday, sharing vivid tales of his time as a combat veteran. He spoke at length about the emotional scars left by war, claiming the sight of Tesla Cybertrucks on the road triggers painful memories of his supposed battlefield experiences.

“Those angular lines, that stainless steel gleam—it’s like staring down an armored convoy in the heat of conflict,” Walz told the audience, his voice steady as he recounted the alleged horrors.

Walz has been a vocal advocate for clean energy policies during his tenure as governor. His administration has pushed tax incentives and infrastructure projects that have boosted electric vehicle adoption across Minnesota, including a noticeable uptick in Tesla models like the Cybertruck.

The governor’s efforts have put more of these futuristic vehicles on the streets, a fact that apparently haunts him daily as he navigates the state’s highways.

“I carried the weight of my brothers-in-arms through the chaos of war,” Walz said.

Records show, however, that Walz never saw combat during his 24 years in the Army National Guard, a detail he often sidesteps while campaigning. He deployed to Italy in 2003 to support Operation Enduring Freedom, but his role was administrative, far from the front lines he frequently invokes.

The governor’s clean energy agenda has been a cornerstone of his political identity. Minnesota’s aggressive push for renewables and electric vehicles has earned praise from environmentalists, even as Walz now frames the resulting Cybertruck sightings as a personal torment.

“You don’t forget the sound of war, the tension in the air—and these trucks just bring it all back,” he added.

Critics have pointed out the discrepancy between Walz’s war stories and his actual service record. The Minnesota National Guard confirmed he retired as a command sergeant major in 2005, before his unit deployed to Iraq, undercutting his narrative of combat trauma.

Still, Walz leaned into the imagery, describing the Cybertruck’s sharp edges as “a mirror to the chaos I survived.”

Tesla’s presence in Minnesota has surged thanks to Walz’s policies, with the state ranking among the top adopters of electric vehicles per capita. The governor’s latest remarks suggest he views this success as a double-edged sword, one that cuts deep into his fabricated past.

“I just want people to understand what it’s like to live with those memories,” Walz concluded.
