Bill Burr Wants Billionaires Dead, Fans Want Burr to Stop Crying

Bill Burr, once a titan of stand-up comedy known for his unfiltered rants, has officially traded his microphone for a megaphone of radical WOKE outrage.

The 56-year-old comedian, who built a career on skewering political correctness and societal absurdities, now spends his days railing against billionaires and Elon Musk like a college freshman who just discovered Marxism.

Fans who once flocked to his shows for his raw humor are now scratching their heads, wondering when Burr decided that comedy should be less about laughs and more about lectures.

Earlier this year, Burr made headlines on his "Monday Morning Podcast" when he demanded billionaires be "put down like rabid dogs" for their greed. The statement was received as less of a punchline and more of a call to arms.

He doubled down in a recent NPR "Fresh Air" interview, labeling Musk an "idiot" and "evidently a Nazi," pointing to the Tesla CEO’s awkward hand gestures at Donald Trump’s inauguration as proof of some grand fascist conspiracy.

Social media erupted with longtime fans lamenting the fall of a comedy giant, while others accused Burr of bending the knee to his wife’s far-left influence.

"Bill Burr used to be the guy who’d punch up at everyone," said Tim Miller, a 33-year-old mechanic from Pittsburgh who’s seen Burr live three times. "Now he’s just another Hollywood drone whining about rich people while cashing his own checks."

Burr’s tirades haven’t stopped at Musk. He’s taken to mocking liberals for not doing enough to stop the billionaire’s supposed takeover, calling them spineless for fleeing the country instead of fighting back.

The irony of a multimillionaire comedian scolding others for cowardice while he rants from the safety of a podcast studio isn’t lost on his critics.

"Bill Burr went from joking about beating women during MeToo to crying about Elon Musk in three years flat—what a glow-up," said one user on X.

The shift comes at a time when Burr’s latest Hulu special, "Drop Dead Years," is trying to capitalize on his old reputation for edgy truth-telling. Instead, audiences are finding a comedian more interested in preaching than provoking.

Industry insiders note that comedy fans are growing tired of the sanctimonious turn, with attendance at his recent shows dipping compared to his pre-woke peak.

"People want laughs, not lessons," said Lisa Carter, a talent booker based in Los Angeles. "Burr’s forgotten that the stage isn’t a soapbox."

Despite the criticism, Burr remains defiant, insisting his new material is about waking people up to the evils of the ultra-wealthy. His podcast rants now regularly feature unhinged tangents, like when he claimed Musk wants to turn America into a dictatorship because "he’s not even from here."

Observers can’t help but notice the disconnect between Burr’s $20 million net worth and his crusade against the elite, a fact that’s fueled even more mockery online.

Fans who once relied on Burr to cut through the noise of political tribalism now see him as part of it, a cautionary tale of what happens when a joker tries to play prophet.

"I just want the old Bill back," said Jake Torres, a 29-year-old server from Texas. "The guy who made fun of everyone, not this Elon-obsessed nag."
